That word “mindset” gets thrown around A LOT in the personal development community. If you’re unfamiliar with the term you might be like “Da hell are they talking about?”
So let me help you out and break it down.
Merriam-Webster dictionary defines mindset as a particular way of thinking : a person’s attitude or set of opinions about something.
That being said your mindset directs the course of your life. Your mindset can literally propel your life forward or keep you in the same exact place for years. What you believe, you achieve. It’s that simple, but we’ll cover this in future blog posts.
Mindset can be explained even further into two categories: fixed and growth.
In a fixed mindset, one believes that the way they are is how they will always be. The belief is that their gifts and talents can never grow, enhance. What they showed up in life with is all they’ll ever have. (PS this is false af) If you believe that you can’t tell an old dog new tricks well then honey thats a fixed mindset. A fixed mindset will find you settling for less than you deserve.
In a growth mindset, one believes that even their most basic abilities can be enhanced with hard work and dedication. A growth mindset lends itself to massive resiliency. To put it bluntly, if you have a growth mindset you’re f*ckin unstoppable, determined af and see possibility at every turn.
Now here’s the thing, if you’ve been living in a fixed mindset with little knowledge, support and encouragement you can still develop a growth mindset.
